Vuur at Remhoogte

VUUR is an exclusive use fire cooking experience by Chef/Owner Shaun Scrooby and his team here at the original restaurant on Remhoogte.

​They only do one lunch table per day, serving a maximum of 10 people inside our stable or 12 people outside underneath our old oak tree in summer.

 7-8 course meal paired with the amazing wines of Remhoogte Wine Estate.

​VUUR is more than just a plate of food and every meal here is an experience . The diners become friends as they enjoy a dining experience that resembles a visit to their home ... just warm hospitality combined with good food and amazing wines.

VUUR was honoured to be included in the TOP10 of the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants Coup de Coeur List (Favourites List). Vuur was also included in the official list for 2024 at number 88 in the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants and the highest ranking African restaurant in the year on the list. What an honour for them!!!

Vuur Goose Island

The popularity of Vuur led to the creation of the second venue, set on an island in the dam next to the original restaurant. Vuur Goose Island is the same unique fire cooking experience but offered as a chef's social table, accommodating up to 18 guests. The setting is breathtaking, overlooking the water, game camp and Stellenbosch mountains guests are part of the action as meals are prepared on a large open fire and wood fired oven. 7 to 8 courses are expertly crafted to be enjoyed with a unique offering of Remhoogte wines, some only available to Vuur.
