A Bond Between Brothers, Bound by Place

At Remhoogte Wine Estate, family is not simply part of the story. It is the foundation on which the estate continues to grow.

For brothers Chris and Rob Boustred, Remhoogte is more than the place they work. It is home, heritage, and a shared responsibility. Set on the slopes of the Simonsberg, the estate has shaped both of their lives in different ways, eventually drawing them back to the same land with a common purpose.

Chris joined Remhoogte in 2007 as winemaker and viticulturist, bringing with him experience from Stellenbosch, Bordeaux, Margaret River, and Napa Valley. His work is rooted in the vineyards, where every vintage begins with observation, patience, and respect for the site. For Chris, winemaking is not about forcing a style, but about understanding what the land is capable of expressing.

Rob joined the estate in 2011 as Sales and Marketing Director, taking the story of Remhoogte beyond the farm. His role is centred around people, as without people, there is no wine. In building relationships, sharing the wines, and creating experiences that allow guests, clients, and partners, he allows them to connect with the estate in a meaningful way.

Though their roles are different, their purpose is the same. Chris carries the voice of Remhoogte through the vineyards and cellar. Rob carries that voice into the world. Together, they represent a balance between craft and connection, between what is grown on the land and how it is shared with others.

What makes their partnership special is not only that they are brothers, but that they are bound by the same place. Their work is shaped by a shared respect for the estate, the family legacy, and the future they are helping to build.

At its heart, Remhoogte is a family estate. And in Chris and Rob, that family story continues with intention, care, and a deep belief in the land they call home.
