Named after our renowned great grandfather, the Sir Thomas Cullinan is our flagship wine. Individual vineyard rows of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the grapes are hand harvested and sorted twice in the cellar. Once pressed, each cultivar will be put into barrel for 12 months, followed by a barrel selection to showcase only best from our estate.
Tasting Notes & Previous Vintages:
A poised and elegant Bordeaux-style blend comprising 72% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9% Cabernet Franc. Aromas of dark plum, black cherry, cassis, graphite, cedarwood, and distinctive herbaceous notes of oregano and wild herbs lead the nose. The palate is layered and refined, with Merlot providing plush texture and generosity, while Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc contribute structure, freshness, and length. Fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity, and subtle notes of dark chocolate and tobacco create a wine of balance and complexity, finishing long and persistent with exceptional aging potential.
